Lillevan-già ospite a Lenz Teatro nel 2007 con i Rechenzentrum (1997-2008), che ha avuto un ruolo pionieristico nel proporre l’unione tra musica e immagini in movimento, presenta la performance sonoro-visiva Fixation Fields, in prima assoluta creazione per Natura Dèi Teatri 2009 e realizzata partendo dal tema concettuale “Campi”.
Per Lillevan “l’estetica delle immagini non è fondata sulla loro bellezza, densità e completezza ma nella loro trasparenza a potenza”. Nel lavoro dell’artista tedesco interferenze e immagini interrotte costituiscono un elemento drammaturgico centrale nella creazione e nella performance. Il suo processo creativo prende avvio da una ricerca sul modello di quella di Jean-Luc Godard per la relazione tra immagini, intensità e consistenza. “Preferisco correre il rischio del fallimento con una sperimentazione live, l’improvvisazione è il mio principio decisivo di lavoro”. Lillevan vede il suo lavoro come un processo multi-strato che dà ad ogni spettatore la possibilità di focalizzarsi su differenti dettagli della performance. Fixation Fields indaga il rapporto tra ritmo, luce e visione percettiva dell’occhio umano ed è ispirata alla teorie di Rudolf Arnheim sull’arte e la percezione.

Lillevan, an animation, video and media artist, founder member of the visual/music group Rechenzentrum (1997-2008), which has performed and exhibited all over the globe and at all the major media festivals, presents the première of the audiovisual performance Fixation Fields, created ad hoc for Natura Dèi Teatri 2009.  Fixation Fields focuses on the relationships between light, rhythm, the eye and psychology and is loosely based on Arnheim's Gestalt theories

Lillevan creates a visual arrangement of optical density and poetry, emphasizing new relationships of moving imagery and sound and the construction of meaning in today's communication. By investigating how new technical forms of image creation and distribution are affecting our perception and understanding of our surroundings,  'Fixation Fields' is a work of abstract beauty and a celebration of synaesthetic diversity.
 Using custom made software, 'Fixation Fields' generates sound by analyzing the image sequences, these sequences are collaged in real time from a massive library of visual experiments collected during research over the last 10 years.
 The moving imagery and the sounds are composed and manipulated during the performance, thus creating a dense filmic experience, a poetic manifesto of visual & musical perception.
